There certainly aren’t a ton of desks labeled exclusively for PC gaming, but as a gamer I think we’re all looking for just about the same thing. The best office desks for PC gaming are those which give you plenty of room for monitors, peripherals, your legs, gear, and even a secondary laptop or computer.
If you’re willing to fork over the big bucks, then you can also find some with cable management options, cup and headphone holders, and other features. That being said I think most of us are more concerned about adding value to our hardware rather than spending a ton of money on a desk.
Why I think an L-Shaped Desk is Ideal
This is just one gamer’s opinion, but for me everything that is bigger is better for gaming. This certainly includes my PC, monitors, and of course my desk.
With that being said, An L-Shaped desk provides the room I need for a couple of my monitors, peripherals, and other trinkets. Its shape allows you to maximize your sitting area and space.
Below I’ve listed a few L-shaped desks (in no particular order) that I’ve had experience with. These would be ideal for making the perfect PC gaming shrine.
Walker Edison’s Soreno is a Good Budget Option
While typically you’d want a lot of desks and drawers for a standard office PC, while gaming you tend to see them as a hindrance. At least that’s my opinion.
Keeping the space where my legs go as wide as possible adds additional comfort by allowing me to sprawl out during long gaming sessions.
I like this Walker Edison desk because it’s fairly tall at 29 inches high, 21 inches deep, and measures 51 inches wide. The desk is also a nice looking black and super easy to put together. Overall it took me less than 45 minutes from start to finish.
Graphite & Frosted Glass L-Shaped Computer Desk
From Techni Mobili
This desk takes a little bit longer to assemble than you might expect, but truly is perfect for your rig. The frosted glass on it reminds me a little bit of some old glass mouse pads I used to use. Both the unit and shelves are sturdy enough to hold heavier gear and it has a great modern look.

Dimensions: 54.5 x 64.5 x 30 inches
The Hampton Corner Workstation
Elegant Looking, Sturdy, and Big
If you’re looking for an L-shaped desk that’s a bit sturdier and more formal for a home office environment, then the Bestar Hampton Corner Workstation is a good fit.
While it did take me around 4 hours to assemble, it was very sturdy and gives me plenty of room. The dimensions of it are 70.1 x 70.1 x 35.3 inches and it weighs around 175 pounds once complete. With it’s weight and size it’s one of those desks that you’ll want to find a spot for it and leave it there almost indefinitely.
Those of you looking for a monitor to use with an Eyefinity setup may simply opt to leave the monitor stand off; however, depending on the size of your monitor it may fit anyway. I personally left mine off because I prefer to look straight on rather than up at my monitor as it tends to give me less eye strain.
Z-Line Belaire Glass L-Shaped Computer Desk – A Budget Option for Tall Gamers
The Z-Line Belaire is the perfect option for those of you looking for something like the Walker Edison but a little bit taller. It measures 60 inches wide by 24 inches deep by 37 inches high and gives you a gamer-friendly limited lifetime warranty.
Atlantic Gaming Desk
Includes cup holder, speaker mounts, phone deck, game and controller holder, and monitor shelf.
I’m personally a fan of L-shaped desks, but a friend of mine purchased this Atlantic Gaming desk and I was pleasantly surprised. With cable management features, a place to set my headset, and even a spot for your Pepsi it feels like you have a lot more desk space.
As he said “the speaker mounts, phone deck, game and controller holder, and monitor shelf are all wonderful and perfectly executed.” It’s perfect for those of you looking put everything together in a relatively small area. The dimensions are; 50 x 40.2 x 26.5 inches and it weighs in at 37.4 pounds.
Work Station & Gaming Console with 2-seater Bench – Homelegance
I like that this year we’re finally starting to see a few models setup specifically for gamers. While this one would work especially well for a PC and console gamer, I thought I would highlight it because of its unique options, bench, and diamondplate metal accents and a cool gunmetal grey powdercoat finish.
Cheap Gaming Desk Options
Another really cheap option to consider is to go to IKEA and purchase two of their basic office desks. These are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors. Please them together and you have a spacious desk for around $120 without cumbersome drawers or hutches.
Final Thoughts: Overall, I still find a corner gaming desk to be ideal. What are your thoughts?
